Living in a very different climate, I plant my parsnips later and harvest in the early spring. However, seeing your wonderfully weird parsnip photos makes me even more anxious for the parsnips to be harvestable, just to see if I end up with anything as photogenic as you've pulled this year. Oh, eating them is going to be great too.

It was no mean feat in the heavy clay we've got on the allotment and as you can see, alas, a couple of it's limbs snapped off in the struggle.

Yes it's a real thrill to unearth the curios which have been quietly maturing, away from prying eyes. Like digging potatoes. Treasure island.
